THE OPPORTUNITY
Do you have experience in planning, coordinating and executing events?
Council are on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our passionate team. Our ideal candidate will have a real passion for connecting people through shared cultural experiences. With a keen eye for detail and a love of collaboration, you will help shape events that celebrate our communities and creativity.
The Manager, Festivals and Events will bring strong experience in delivering large-scale cultural programs, festivals, events and community celebrations. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on event management expertise to ensure every festival and event is delivered with creativity, precision, and impact.
With a strong business background, our Manager will be a creative producer and organiser who thrives on bringing ambitious ideas to life in a fiscal and safe environment. With a background in curating vibrant programs and managing complex logistics, they will continue to deliver and grow existing and new events for the city.

Salary range: Grade 23 - $156,544.92 - $169,405.87 per annum including 12% superannuation and leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

- Lead the planning, development and delivery of major festivals, events and public programs that strengthen community engagement and cultural impact
- Collaborate across teams, partners and stakeholders to design innovative, high-quality experiences that align with Council's organisational values, goals and brand.

The Manger Festival And Events Is Responsible For
- Oversee the safe planning, coordination and effective delivery of an annual program of Council-led festivals and events that are responsive to changing needs and community expectations, actively pursuing a range of partners to collaborate in the delivery of Council's annual program of festivals and events
- Work closely with the Directorate Management Team to plan and manage the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival with an emphasis on building revenue and sponsorship returns, enhancing visitor experiences and delivering innovative features and events
- Guide and drive the Tamworth Country Music Advisory Committee;
- Build economic returns for the community through events and conferences
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Arts Management, Business, Tourism, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience OR 10 years experience in senior event management and/or planning roles
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Post graduate qualifications in marketing or similar (Desirable)
- Previous experience working with local government framework and operations (Desirable)
