Senior Civil Designer
Location: Tamworth, NSW
THE OPPORTUNITY
You're an experienced civil designer with a strong understanding of survey principles and a knack for turning complex data into practical design solutions. You take pride in delivering high-quality, cost-effective designs for roads, drainage, water, sewer, and other infrastructure projects—always with safety, functionality, and constructability in mind. With 5–7 years of hands-on experience, you're confident using specialised design software to create 3D models, solve technical challenges, and support project delivery from concept to construction. You enjoy mentoring others, managing competing priorities, and collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and authorities to bring great designs to life.

Salary range: Grade 16 – 19 - $93,519.65 - $121,200.39 per annum including 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.

The Senior Civil Designer Is Responsible For
- Providing design solutions that offer functionality, value for money, are constructible and follow Safety in Design principles
- Delivering Engineering design for civil infrastructure projects (e.g. road, drainage, water, sewer and other associated works) using specialised design software programs, including building 3D design models for use by the civil construction team
- Providing design assistance to Council's construction team to resolve issues that occur during construction
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma of Civil Construction Design or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Driver Licence
- WHS General Induction for Construction Work
