Location: Tamworth, NSW
THE OPPORTUNITY
Tamworth Regional council is seeking a reliable, customer focused and professional Weighbridge Attendant to join our Waste Management and Resource Recovery team.
Based at our landfill facility, this role plays an important part in ensuring that all waste entering the site is accurately assessed, recorded, and managed in accordance with Council and statutory requirements.
As the first point of contact for site users you will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining compliance, safety and environmental standards.
The Weighbridge Attendant Is Responsible For
You will have demonstrated experience (1-3 years) in similar roles, with the ability to:

Salary range: Grade 6 - $1,113.60 - $1,205.00 per week excluding superannuation for a 38 hour work week.
Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.

Tamworth Regional council is seeking a reliable, customer focused and professional Weighbridge Attendant to join our Waste Management and Resource Recovery team.
Based at our landfill facility, this role plays an important part in ensuring that all waste entering the site is accurately assessed, recorded, and managed in accordance with Council and statutory requirements.
As the first point of contact for site users you will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining compliance, safety and environmental standards.
The Weighbridge Attendant Is Responsible For
- monitoring and control of waste entering the landfill, including screening, assessing and classifying material
- recording waste types and quantities to meet Council and statutory reporting obligations
- collection of fees, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records of waste deposits and product sales
- maintaining landfill site presentation and operational standards
- ensuring all site activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements
You will have demonstrated experience (1-3 years) in similar roles, with the ability to:
- Communicate effectively with customers, clients and team members
- Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently
- Operate and understand weighbridge systems (eg: Mandalay)
- Perform data entry and maintain precise records using Microsoft Office programs
- Operate a forklift safely and competently
- Apply safe work practices
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and perform manual tasks safely
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Certificate II, or equivalent licence(s) or certificate(s) requiring 400-600 hours
- WHS Construction Card
- Immunisation for Hepatitis A and B, Tetnus, Q Fever (or willingness to undergo)
