The Tamworth Cancer Centre is seeking an experienced Team Lead to guide and support our dedicated administrative team.
This Monday to Friday role offers flexibility within business hours, and we're happy to consider part-time arrangements (minimum 30 hours per week) for the right candidate.
Whilst this position is open to all individuals, it is targeted to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people under section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Your Next Step
As Team Lead, you will oversee a team of 17 admin staff, ensuring smooth operations in supporting oncology outpatients, infusion services, specialist medical staff, and outpatient typing services.
You'll be the go-to resource for workflow management, staff development, and Medicare billing guidance, helping our team deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.

You will be a clear and confident communicator, able to negotiate effectively and explain complex processes in a way that empowers your staff, while a strong knowledge of billing in an outpatient area is highly valued.

- Lead and manage a team of administrative staff, fostering a supportive, patient-centred culture
- Allocate work, manage workflow, and ensure processes are understood and followed
- Provide guidance on billing and legislative changes for Medicare bulk billing
- Manage staff rostering, performance reviews, and coaching
- Conduct staff meetings, ensure workplace safety, and coordinate annual quality audits
- Provide sector support to the Operations Manager for Cancer and Outpatient services
- Collaborate across disciplines, including radiation therapy, nursing, specialists, and doctors
